Sunday Snapshot

Hello Everybody!  Yes – we’re still here – just coming up out of the blur that is the end of the mango and avocado season here at Blue Sky – wahoooooo!  This week’s photo was taken on our walk about the farm this afternoon setting up all of our sprinklers back on the lawn again, ready to try to keep our grass green – we sure didn’t get much of a wet season this year!

It has been a month since my last blog post – aaaargh!  So much to catch you up on – I’ve had a trip to Adelaide for the International Rural Women’s Conference with Kipp in tow. Matt, Kipp and I have been to Sydney to see Zac Brown Band in concert, we’ve had Easter and now we are half way through the school holidays already – seriously time really does just fly!  Oh, and we had a new set of twins arrive in the extended family this week which is just so lovely – congratulations Carla and Lachie!

So, some blog posts to come this week, definitely!  This weekend we have just really enjoyed spending some quiet time together as a family on the very, very quiet farm and a quick trip to Cairns to see Poppy and Rema, and for Matt and Uncle Jimbo to see Michael Franti in concert.

We are loving the slower pace and the ‘glow’ that is the post crazy mango and avocado season madness, combined with the school holidays and no dashing about for kids and adults activities!  BLISS!

AND, we have been putting lists together (my favourite!) of all the things we want to achieve around the house/on the jobs front in the next few quieter months, like get a pig and build a swing set for the kids and sort out a sand pit for Kipp as a certain little boy is very soon turning 1!  We are excitedly trying to plan a couple of camping trips away too which is very FUN!  Looking to head to Chillagoe, O’Brien’s Creek and up the Cape – anybody want to join us???

What is everybody else up to at the moment?  Did you have a good Easter?  Is anybody feeling very over indulged on the food front like me??

Have a good week all and be prepared for a bit of a Fealy Family news inundation!

  2. Oh I’d love to join you. Think it might be a bit far to make it on time. Sob! Friends down the road got a couple of miniature pigs for their 13 year old for Christmas. I’ve been trying to convince Sam to get one and he wasn’t keen, but last night Isobel’s pigs got out and we went to hep catch them and I think he was just a little bit taken with them!! Fingers crossed. (Ps. I love lists too!)
